Joyfuls Pups

Here are two happy Wolf Pack Pups! Had a great trip to Missouri with my Husband(Who took a break from his travel boycott) and two of my grandsons. It was a wet, hot, humid trip but all in all we had a great adventure. We made it to a Cardinals/Cubs game. Visited the Arch. Got stuck in the tram in the Arch. Took in a couple of Museums, seen the Clydesdale's and the major reason for the trip....The Wolf Pack vs Missouri Game. It was an ugly loss but had a great time with the pups. On our trip home I asked them what they liked best in St. Louis...their answer PILLOW FIGHTING with grandpa....and SWIMMING and having a WATER FIGHT with grandpa.. So glad that grandpa made the trip! Kind of feels like when kids are small and they get all those great Christmas gifts and what do they like to play with the best?? yep..the box! Great memories and that's what it's all about!

Stork Makes A Visit

The Stork dropped a beautiful baby boy off to my daughter and her husband. Richard Nathanial joined the family at 7:47 pm on August 26th ( his official due date). Little Nate weighed in at 6lbs 4oz, with a ton of black hair. Looks a lot like his mom and big brother Alex. Grand babies are the greatest. New life, new hope..all is well in our little corner of the universe!

Why Drive When We Can Fly For Free????

My dearest hubby has been wanting to go on a road trip! I really didn't think I had been ignoring his request until he decided to boycott any future trip with me until we take said road trip. As I looked back over the last several years..ok..decades, I decided he was definitely right, it seems as if we are taking separate vacations. We both go on motorcycle trips with friends-separately. We went on a cruise with our daughter and grandson. Camping trips to Oregon with the grand kids. But no road trips together. The problem is I hate to drive long distance. Why drive when we can fly?? Or fly and start the road trip half way there? We have enough frequent flier trips with Southwest that we could fly almost anywhere...but no..it has to be a driving trip. I'm trying to be very upbeat...where should we go?...When are we going...Let's make a plan. But I still don't quite get the not flying part...or why not fly and cruise....nope, it has to be a car trip. And I will have fun. I WILL ENJOY watching the miles go by. Sometimes we have to give in....and I know it will be a new experience. But in my logical mind I keep thinking...."we have all these free flights"......

Beads And More Beads!

If you know me, you would know that I can't stop at just one..or two..or three! And I'm not talking about potato chips! I started knitting scarfs a few years ago..I have now knitted at least 150 scarfs..and still going. I also knitted hats...and more hats... Then there were shawls..in every color of the rainbow.. I made pillow quilts one years..one for every family member, grandkids, parents, brother, sisters, friends, countrymen...you get the picture! My sister, Peace as she is known in Blog land and Brenda as she is know to me, was up for a quick visit. She introduced me to beading..making necklaces, bracelets...and now..just three days later...I'm running out of room for my creations..my eyes are red from the strain..you can't find my kitchen table with pliers, crimpers, beads, wire, beads, boxes of beads..from morning until late at night..(my husband is out of town so I have even more time to create). I know have a necklace and matching bracelet for every dress, sweater, tee shirt and even my birthday suit... It is a sickness.. I think I'm going to learn how to quilt next..Thanks sissy!....mmmmm, who can I create another necklace for???

Copper joins the Joyful Zoo!

Here is the newest member at Joyfuls Zoo. This is Copper. Yep another Springer Spaniel. He actually is for my grandson. He has wanted a puppy of his own but, alas, his stepdad doesn't want a dog. So the solution was easy. Grandma and Grandpa could get a new puppy and Alex could be the co-owner. He was so excited. He looked at ads online and in the newspaper. Made a list of names for the new puppy by sex and color. We picked up the puppy last night and Alex spent the night. There is just something about a little boy and a puppy of his own. We went to Petsmart today and studied puppy food, toys, leashes, collars, puppy classes and id's for his puppy. There is just a special love between boys and puppies. I'm smiling...what's one more dog at the zoo??

Once in a lifetime ride

Just got back from a 3800 mile ride with 15 women to Canada and beyond. How empowering to be able to make this ride. What beautiful countryside and adventures to last a lifetime...or a least until the next ride. I traveled the back roads through Northern California, Oregon, Washington, British Columbia, Alberta, Montana, Wyoming, Idaho and then back home to Nevada. The Canadian Rockies were spectacular and Banff was gorgeous. Rode the wild Snake river in a raft. Love the thrill of it all. I only wish that I had camera attached to my helmet as I rode. So much beauty. It is a trip I will always remember. This picture was taken in Yellowstone Park. I was so excited to find this sign. I had a picture taken at the continental divide as a very young wife of two years. Then again as a young mother of three small children and now as a biker grandma. Life is great. Just keep living, loving and laughing!
